Any flood at your home or workspace can prove devastating no matter what caused it.
In this instance, our client called us in panic mode – their offices were under siege with uncontrolled water inflows. Business came to a grinding halt, costing the company time and money. NLR came to the rescue with not a moment to lose. Our brief was to report on the extent of the damage caused by water intrusion, propose remedial solutions and react timeously according to client instructions.

On-site Assessment Case Study
This case study illustrates how we examined the situation on-site along with the follow up actions required to dry out water damaged carpets and infrastructure at the client’s premises:
- Step 1 – Our technical team concluded that the client’s premises were under six inches of water, due to a burst pipe in the hot water system.
- Step 2 – Owing to water mingling freely with electrical equipment, the first activity on the critical path was to engage electrical professionals to evaluate the property. Plumber consultation also proved essential.
- Step 3 – Our team of water damage experts concluded that around 10,000 litres of water had been dumped on the work space.
- Step 4 – The team estimated that, based on the square meterage of the office, 49 Air Movers and 15 Dehumidifiers would be needed to extract brown water in structural components on the premises.
- Step 5 – Special yellow hoses proved necessary to suck the water from wall cavities in order to minimise the risk of future mould growth.
Our estimate of approximately 8 days involvement to get the premises prepared for handback to the client’s carpet installers proved spot on as usual. If you have suffered wet carpets or structural flood damage, please call us on 1300 077 983 right away. We provide a 24/7 response.
